As part of your Twin Peaks experience, we will be visiting our alpine lake fish camp at Williams Lake Lodge. Williams Lake began as a fish camp in the high Rockies and is located two miles west and 1,000 feet above the Salmon River. It is the only lake of its size within 150 miles and is the site of the local fishing derbies. The surrounding mountains jut up steeply from its deep waters to provide an exceptionally majestic setting perfect for the avid fisherman as well as the leisurely boater or swimmer.
The boathouse offers a tackle shop, outboards, rowboats and a canoe to accommodate all kinds of water activities. Check out the old Red Dog Saloon or, on display, is an 1882 Baldwin locomotive and the old carved white oak bar from the Jerome Hotel in Virginia City, Montana.
The avid fisherman may want to spend all his time here as anglers long ago named its inlet “fly fisherman’s heaven” because of the high level of fresh water shrimp the lake enjoys. For more on our fishing, visit our Cast, Troll and Fly Fishing page.
